\nStudies<\/strong>
\nNuno Martins (1979, Porto) holds a PhD in Digital Media (2013) at the University of Porto, as a doctoral fellow of the UT Austin-Portugal Program of the Foundation for Science and Technology. In 2020 he completed a post-doctoral degree in Design. He also holds a MA in Multimedia Art (2007) and a BA in Communication Design (2003) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. In 2002, during his undergraduate degree, he was a fellow of the Socrates\/Erasmus Program, having studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy - Hogeschool Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n


\nTeaching<\/strong>
\nHe is a Coordinating Professor of Communication Design at the School of Design of the Polytechnic University of C\u00e1vado and Ave and Director of the MA in Digital Design. Since 2008, he lectures at IPCA in the BA in Graphic Design and in the MA in Digital Design. He was responsible for the creation and reformulation of several courses in IPCA, namely the creation of the Digital Design Master. He was also Coordinator of the Scientific Area of Communication Design (2014-2021) and Director of the Graphic Design degree (2016-2017).<\/p>\n

Research
\n<\/strong>He was Principal Investigator (PI) of the project \u201cECHO \u2013 Echoing the Communal Self: designing the dissemination and replication of self-initiated practices in underprivileged urban communities in a post-pandemic world\u201d, funded by FCT (EXPL\/ART-DAQ\/0037\/2021); Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of the project \u201cHERIC 2D: Health Risk Communication: Design and digital communication of official public health sources to guide citizens in pandemic situations\u201d funded by FCT (Ref. 2022.06008.PTDC); and has participated, as a team member, in several funded research projects.

\nIn 2017, he co-founded DIGICOM - International Conference on Design & Digital Communication, and is responsible (Conference Chair) for the organisation of this scientific event. He is member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and was editor of numerous scientific publications in the area of Communication Design, namely books of chapters and proceedings of international conferences.<\/p>\n

Awards and References<\/strong>
\nHe has won several awards, namely: 3 Graphis Gold Award (2021, 2015 and 2014, USA); 2 Graphis Silver Award (2020 and 2014, USA); 1st prize - Mascot of the Ocean\u00e1rio of Lisbon; 1st prize - Mascot of the Water Pavilion of Porto; 1st prize - Porto Digital logo; 1st Prize \"Winner Online\" in the contest Webdesign 2004, promoted by ESTAL; and 1st Prize in the Contest \"Papies 2006\" (category \"Papies of the Internet).<\/p>\n

Some of his design projects are published in over twenty books on Communication Design, published in Hong Kong, Germany, Spain, USA, Austria, Netherlands, France, China and UK.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
